“Being touched and caressed, being massaged, is food for the infant. Food as necessary as minerals, vitamins, and proteins.”

- Dr. Frederick Leboyer

Infant massage is an ancient art. It is a tradition that has been passed down from parent to child for generations, in cultures all over the world. It is a wonderful way to stimulate your baby, to provide them with relief from discomfort, and to help them relax. Above all else, it is a means of connection - a powerful way to listen, understand and respond to the unique person that is your baby.

I looked forward to the class every week and my son enjoyed it just as much as I did! Wonderful class to help you bond with your child and Leah made it even more enjoyable! Would recommend to everyone.

As we went through the different strokes week by week, I noticed my baby becoming more comfortable and calmer, the touching really soothed her and made me realize that as busy parents, we often just go through the motions and forget to take the time to connect through touch with our children.

Infant Massage Class

5 Week Series - Each session is 90 minutes, allowing plenty of time for feeding and soothing of babies, as well as group discussion of relevant topics and community building. Each family will receive Infant Massage: A Handbook for Loving Parents by Vimala McClure, as well as a booklet containing all of the massage strokes and a bottle of high quality massage oil.

The classes I offer are fun, relaxing, and a lovely opportunity to connect with other new parents! In the course of the 5 week series, we will learn and practice strokes for your baby’s entire body, as well as a specific Relief of Colic and Gas routine and a Gentle Movements sequence that playfully stretches and aligns little bodies.
